Last day in Costa Rica
Hi guys! So I know it has been a long while since I wrote on here but I have been so busy. I figured it was about time to let you guys know how my last day was in this beautiful town of Costa Rica. So once again we had to wake up super early to start our day. We decided that morning that we wanted to do the horseback riding tour, so we headed down to their tiny stables across the street from the resort. After signing some waivers and getting our gear on, helmets, etc. We headed out on a trail that had a perfect view of Arenal Volcano.
As we headed down different trails the surroundings were beautiful. The first time the instructor whistled for the horses to go faster was so exhilarating. As soon as we stopped everyone was laughing at each other. I think I was crying I was laughing so hard, mostly at my husband. It was funny seeing his reaction to riding a horse that fast. In fact, I don't think he has ever ridden a horse in his life, it was quite the scene. After a few more stops we arrived at a beautiful waterfall, where we were able to ride the horses right up to it for a fantastic photo.
After leaving the waterfall we were able to ride the horses through the creek located right around the corner, where we were able to capture more photos.
We also all decided this would be a nice place to take a swim. We spent a good hour hearing exchanging stories, learning Spanish words, etc. It was nice to meet new people and hear about why they came and where they were from. After we left the creek we stopped in a little indigenous village on the way back, this village was the maleku people. We sat there where a young lady presented to us (all in Spanish, which was translated), all about her village. We were only there for about 30 minutes, but it was so interesting learning about her world, and seeing her culture. She then started speaking in the language that was only known by her village. It was so cool hearing this language.
After we left, we then headed back to the resort. Since this was our last day there we decided it was time to go eat lunch and get a fresh coconut. So, my sister said the one thing we had to do while visiting was get a fresh coconut. And I'm so glad we did. We ate at a little soda where Arenal volcano was in very clear sight. We then went on a hunt for coconuts. After driving for quite some time, we found the coconuts at a stand on the side of the road. This guy was awesome, he literally chopped the tops off of the coconuts and stuck a straw in there. Talk about fresh, it was amazing!
After we enjoyed our coconuts we spent some time by the pool and hot springs before getting dressed for our last night in Costa Rica. Once we got dressed we decided to go to town and walk around for a bit, do some last minute shopping and grab some dinner. The town is beautiful. Its so small and cute, with the volcano setting in the background.
And then it was time to say goodbye.

I hate that we had to leave so soon. This trip is one that I will never forget, and I look forward to the day we get to visit again.
